What is a "Wacom ID"?

Wacom ID is the single sign-on service for all Wacom web services.

Account Management
Creating a Wacom ID
There are a couple of ways check if a customer already has a Wacom ID:
- CRM SideApp in Zendesk shows if a "Magento ID" has been created
- the "Wacom ID" shown in the CRM SideApp is the reference to the Wacom ID used by Dynamics CRM; the Magento ID is the reference to the Wacom ID used by Magento and other systems such as Registration.
- You can enter their email address on any account creation form
- If your customer should have a Wacom ID but you can't find it, check for typos in the email

A Wacom ID can be registered by you or by the customer
- A customer can create a Wacom ID by registering their email address on any Wacom site or service and then activating the account.

- This form does not allow customers to enter a VAT ID for eStore purchases!

- As an agent, you can very quickly and easily "Create a Magento ID" in the CRM SideApp, which will become a full Wacom ID when the customer activates it.
Activate a Wacom ID

When a Wacom ID is created, a link is sent to the registered email address. The customer cannot log in until this link has been clicked.
Due to the European GDPR privacy regulations, it is not possible to verify an account on behalf of an EU customer.
If they cannot activate the account:
- Check it has been registered and typed correctly.
- You can do this yourself in one of two ways:
- in Magento
- type their email address on any account creation form (but do not submit):
- Have the customer review their spam/junk or any other folders (e.g. Social, Promotions, Clutter, etc.) to ensure they did not miss the validation email that is sent upon creation of a new user.
- Check that enough time has elapsed. The verification email occasionally takes several hours to arrive.
- Clicking a 'Forgot Password' link will allow them to re-send the verification email.
- You can do this for them, but make sure they are expecting it so they don't think it's a phishing attempt.
- Have the customer change their Wacom ID to a different email address, preferably from a different provider.
Changing Account/Profile Details
Contact details can be changed:
- By you: click Edit to the right of their name in their name in a Magento search.
- By the customer as shown below,
- Notes
- Changes will not apply to eStore orders or invoices which are already in the system.
- For PayPal orders the Billing Address is set by the PayPal account and cannot be changed: https://www.wacom.com/support?guideId=151-057
- From April 2020 it is possible for customers to change the email address they use to login to their Wacom ID.
- Internal info: what actually happens in the background is that the new email address is added to their Wacom ID, as you can see in Magento.

- Click on your profile icon (your initials, or your photo if you have uploaded one) at the top Right of the page, then click "My Account".
- On the "Manage My Account" page, click the "Edit Profile" button.
- Update your details as required and click the "Save Changes" button.
- If you changed the email address, we will send an activation email to the new email address. Click on the "Activate link" in the email to verify the changes.

Email address changes made before April 2020
It was not possible to change the email address of a Wacom ID, it just created a second account. If your customer did this:
- First, Roll back to the previous email address
- When signed in with the old Wacom ID, change the email address to the new one again.
Email Subscription
Email Subscription and " My Interests"(Newsletter settings) can be changed by the customer:
VAT ID
- follow the process to change #Contact Details for eStore customers.
- "Private User" accounts need to be changed to "Corporation" to see the VAT ID box.
- Be sure that the customer set the VAT as it would appears to the VIES website with a space between the country codes and the digits: [1]

Password
First preference is for customers to reset their own password using the 'Forgot Password' link or when logged in to their account.

Wacom ID Deletion Process
Due to the European GDPR privacy regulations, we have to delete an account on request. This has to be done manually using the Wacom ID Deletion Process.
